This update transforms your daily figure drawing practice by introducing a new progression system where the garden expands as you draw, gamifying your consistency and mirroring your own artistic progress. New Challenge Modifiers have also been added to make exploring exciting - offering unique, rare drawing excercises to shake up your routine.
A Garden That Grows With You
Figure Drawing Garden has been overhauled to further support your journey as an artist. Each garden tile is now locked behind fog by default. As you spend time drawing and studying statues, you will receive Drawing Points which can be used to permanently unlock and reveal new 'tiles' of the map.
Much like filling the pages of a sketchbook, this system gives you a visual representation of your hard work. By adding this element of gamified progression, we hope to provide that extra spark of motivation to keep your daily habit going. It adds a layer of creative constraint - focusing your attention on what is available now - while giving you a rewarding sense of accomplishment as you watch your garden grow over time.
Shake Up Your Routine: Challenge Modifiers
Have you ever been in a life drawing class where the instructor suddenly asks you to do a blind contour drawing, or switch to your non-dominant hand? It’s difficult, but it forces you to loosen up and think differently. We have brought that experience to Figure Drawing Garden.
Now, whenever a statue spawns, there is a small chance it will appear with a Challenge Modifier. This adds a thrill to exploration - you never know when you might stumble upon a unique exercise that breaks you out of your comfort zone.
Blind Drawing: Drawing without looking at your canvas to improve hand-eye coordination.
Non-Dominant Hand: Testing your dexterity and loosening your stiff lines.
Continuous Line: Drawing the whole figure without lifting your pen from the page.
Draw from Memory: The statue vanishes after a few seconds, requiring you to draw what you remember.
Imagined Perspective: You must draw the figure from the specific perspective of a randomly placed red ball marker, rather than what you see on screen.
These challenges are optional surprises to keep your daily practice fresh. They are perfect for tackling "art block" by forcing you to focus on the process of observation rather than the perfection of the result.
